Ginza is Tokyo’s Fifth Avenue-like area. The wide streets are full of department stores, designer shops and high-end boutiques such as Cartier, Louis Vuitton and Bulgari. You can access Ginza from Ginza station by subway lines as well as Yurakucho station by JR Yamanote line.
If you go there on the weekend, the main streets will be open for pedestrians only and it’s easier to walk around.
At Sukiyabashi Crossing you can easily spot SONY building on one corner. It is a showroom concept building, not a shop, for everyone to have a look at and experience their latest products and technologies. It is open everyday from 11 am.
If you have Japanese traditional culture in mind, you may want to catch Kabuki act at Kabuki-za Theatre. They have plays all year around and provide you the earphone for English translations during the play. Kabuki-za Theatre is 1 minute from Higashi Ginza station, or 5 minute walk from Ginza station. For details, please visit Kabuki-za Official Website: http://www.kabuki-bito.jp/eng/contents/theatre/kabukiza.html
If you are beer-lovers and will spend the evening in Ginza (Note: Most shops in Japan are open till 8pm or 9pm! Yes!), why don’t you drop in at the pub – Kirin City Plus Ginza for original Kirin beers. They also have nice meals for lunch and dinner to go with lovely beers. Only 3-4 minutes from Ginza Station or Yurakucho Station. Open everyday 11:30 – 23:00. (Address: Bunsho-do Bldg. 2F, 3-4-12 Ginza, Chuo-ku, Tokyo)

Great post with wonderful pictures. I’ll always have a soft spot for Ginza because it was the first area of Tokyo I ever explored.
Thanks for your comment, first one we have had. It’s a nice ice breaker for the site! We hope to have the whole site finished soon with a gallery of pictures and information for tourists to Japan.
