Shinjuku

Shinjuku is one of the major towns of Tokyo and if we explain it in one word, it is “HUGE”!

From the mammoth station, there are so many station exits to the outside and you can easily get lost even if you are Japanese. Shinjuku Station is THE busiest station in the world (yes, in the world) with more than 3 million commuters every single day. Can you imagine that?

There are skyscrapers with thousands of offices on the West side including the twin-headed Tokyo Metropolitan Government building whilst all your touristic consumer needs, that is, many shopping buildings, department stores, cinemas, cafés and restaurants, bars, camera stores and electrical appliances stores are gathering everywhere around the station. Akihabara in Tokyo is famous for many electrical appliances stores (more like department stores, really) but so is Shinjuku!

On South exit or New South exit side you can easily spot huge Takashimaya Department Store and Tokyu Hands Store. Beautiful Shinjuku Gyoen park is also less than 10 minutes away from this side.

On East side, Shinjuku Kabuki-cho area is the mecca of night life with bars and sex industry salons called “Soap Land”. Soap Land is not a brothel as the act of prostitution is illegal in Japan however the girls are there to give you a special massage. If you dare, make sure you will not get ripped off!
